About the client
Davines Group is an international Italian professional cosmetics brand founded in Parma in 1983.
The company operates in more than 90 countries, maintains offices across Europe, the US, and Asia, and is a certified B-Corp.
In Ukraine, the brand is represented by its official distributor, IRIS.

Task
The Ukrainian distributor’s website had existed for years as a single-language Russian project.
In 2020, a decision was made to launch a full Ukrainian version as the primary language of the site.
The scope of work included:
- complete Ukrainian localization of all website content;
- work with specialized cosmetic, professional, and commercial terminology;
- ensuring consistency and linguistic integrity across all sections;
- parallel proofreading of the original Russian content, which contained numerous grammatical and stylistic errors.
Technical implementation and publishing were handled by the client’s internal team.
My responsibility was content localization and language quality control only.

Implementation
The total content volume exceeded 700,000 characters, requiring a structured, systematic workflow rather than linear translation.
The process was organized as follows:
- All translations were prepared in external files and delivered to the client’s technical team;
- Each file contained both the original Russian text and the Ukrainian version;
- During localization, the Russian content was fully proofread to identify:
- grammatical and stylistic errors;
- incorrect or inconsistent terminology;
- unclear or inaccurate formulations;
- All detected issues were clearly marked with suggested corrections, enabling the client’s team to update both language versions in parallel.
Special attention was given to:
- terminology unification;
- consistency of product names, product lines, and professional terminology;
- maintaining a neutral, professional tone aligned with the brand’s international standards.

Result
- The Ukrainian version of the website was fully prepared and launched as the primary language.
- All sections achieved terminological consistency and linguistic coherence.
- The Russian version was cleaned of a significant number of errors and stylistic inconsistencies.
- The client received a structured, verified content base suitable for long-term use and further development.

Notes
This project did not involve design or development, but it required a high level of responsibility.
At this scale, content errors have long-term consequences for a B2B brand’s credibility and operations.
For me, this case represents work where the main value lies not in tools, but in systematic thinking, attention to detail, and respect for professional context — linguistic, commercial, and cultural.
